  • Do I need electrolytes or just water?

Water is usually sufficient for everyday hydration and many shorter or lower-intensity sessions. Electrolytes may become more relevant when exercise is longer, conditions are hot, sweat losses are high or you need to rehydrate between sessions. Individual needs vary depending on the person and the session.

  • When should I take electrolytes?

There is no single best time for everyone. Before exercise, the aim is to start well hydrated. During longer, hotter or high-sweat sessions, electrolytes can help replace some of the sodium lost in sweat. After exercise, they may be useful when replacing substantial fluid and sodium losses.

  • Are electrolytes only useful for endurance athletes?

No. Electrolytes are commonly used in endurance sport, but they may also be relevant for HYROX, team sports, gym training and other demanding sessions. Their usefulness depends more on exercise duration, conditions and sweat losses than on the type of sport alone.

  • Are all electrolyte supplements the same?

No. Products can differ considerably in sodium content, other electrolytes, serving size, format and additional ingredients. Hydration+ clearly declares 600 mg sodium, 300 mg potassium, 100 mg magnesium, 120 mg calcium and 2,000 mg taurine per 9g serving, allowing customers to compare the formula with other products.
